Chanhassen, MN – July 16, 2009, .... ERP Solutions, Inc., an ISV for Microsoft Corporation announced today a new version of Total Engineering Change Management for Dynamics AX 2009 and AX 4.0.  The new version now incorporates cost and price estimating within the modeling “Sandbox” so that new items and products can be estimated prior to release into the AX production tables.  The new functionality is seamlessly integrated into Dynamics AX CRM so that Sandbox items can be quoted without standard AX Item numbers.  The estimating feature uses the standard AX Bom calculator so customers will be familiar with the process and functionality.  “This provides a new important piece of functionality for Dynamics AX customers” states Tim Holmquist of ERP Solutions.  “They now have the ability to perform complete cost and price estimating prior to releasing new designs, or engineering changes, into the AX production tables.  The estimator uses detailed bill of material and route consumption in its estimates, just like in standard AX.  We have targeted those industries such as job shop and design to order but have found that existing customers in industries such as automotive, high-tech, medical and others are excited about this new feature as well”.

The design process in TECM provides a Sandbox called the Engineering Research and Design Order Form.  This form is where you model new items, bills of materials, and routes prior to release into the AX production tables.  Design engineers can use a combination of new or existing AX items when designing bills of material and routes.  Once designs are completed they are distributed for digital signatures and approvals for release into the standard AX production tables.  Myrl Stadnick, technical support director for ERP Solutions, commented “The Sandbox is a duplicate of the standard AX item, bom, and route tables so customers find TECM easy to use.  The module has also been developed so that it easily installs into existing customers already using Dynamics AX”.
